LIRN – The LIRN electronic library provides participating colleges and universities with access to a wide range of research and reference resources, including databases in business, computer science, and many other disciplines. These databases offer, among other materials, the full-text of millions of periodical articles from thousands of peer reviewed journals. The LIRN electronic library can be accessed from any computer with an Internet connection. A password is required to access LIRN. You should receive this password in an e-mail at the beginning of the semester.

E.brary – E.brary’s Academic Complete database is designed to meet the reference and research needs of students up to the Master’s level. It will provide you and your students with access to more that 120,000 items including e-books, maps, journal, and reports. The database includes the full-texts of almost 35,000 current academic book titles, including more than 6,000 titles in business and economics, and approximately 3,000 titles in computer and information science. Unlike LIRN, no password is required to access e.brary. However, e.brary can only be accessed from computers on the VIU campus or through VIU's wireless network. to use e.brary you must install the e.brary Reader. The Reader has been installed on all VIU computers. To install the Reader on your personal computer, follow the instructions on the e.brary homepage under Getting Started.
